Vegan MoFo : Day 8 : Madras Palace

Yesterday afternoon, I had the rare treat of meeting up with my husband for lunch. One of his clients canceled, so he didn’t have to go in until later in the afternoon. I’m always looking for something new to try out, so I checked out vegdc.com and found Madras Palace, a vegetarian Indian restaurant with a lunch buffet.

Carl got there a few minutes before me, so asked our server to show him the vegan options. There was actually quite a bit to choose from. I would have been satisfied with chickpeas and rice, but I was able to fill up one plate with chana masala, dahl, another type of vegetable curry, Uthapam (a type of vegetable pancake), Medhu Vada (fried lentil doughnut), bread, and cilantro and tamarind chutney. I went back for a little more of the chickpeas and bread because they were just too good.

There were a few other options too, including some soups, rice dishes,  dosas, and chutney, but I was too full to get to those this time. At less than $20 for two people, including tip, we’ll definitely be back!
